The Buying & Selling Process

Selling Timeshares, Inc. has many Disney Vacation Club point packages available for resale. Visit the Inventory section for prices or feel free to make an offer.

If you are a Disney Vacation Club owner interested in selling your property, please fill out the form in the Sellers section.

Disney has the Right of First Refusal on all sales of their memberships. DVC has 30 days to respond, although it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. Once the sale is approved, Disney forwards the transfer documents to the title company. After the necessary documents have been executed and returned by both Seller and Buyer and the Buyer has remitted payment in full, Disney Vacation Club is notified of the transfer of ownership. The entire resale transfer process takes approximately 8 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

General information on how to use, buy, and sell Disney Vacation Club points on the resale market.

Q: How much are DVC’s maintenance fees?

A: Maintenance fees vary depending on the number of points and the resort owned. The 2011 maintenance fee rates ranged from $3.8943 per point at the low end (Bay Lake Tower) to $6.7760 per point at the high end (Vero Beach).

Q: How many points should I buy?

A: The number of points each owner needs depends on desired resort, room type, and length of travel each year. Interested buyers should consult the below points charts to determine the number of points best for them.

Q: When will the points become available and how long do I have to use them?

A: The month in which points become available depends on the use year purchased. Points can be banked (saved) for use in the next year and can also be borrowed from the upcoming year without any charge.

Q: How far in advance can Disney Vacation Club reservations be booked?

A: Members are able to make reservations 11 months in advance at their home resort during the Home Priority Booking window. Reservations can be booked 7 months in advance at any other location.

Q: What is the difference between purchasing at the various DVC resorts?

A: If there is a specific resort you and your family know you would like to travel to each year it is smart to make that your home resort so you can take advantage of the Home Priority Booking window. If you are more concerned with keeping annual dues low it is smart to choose a home resort with a lower price per point for fees. Lastly, it is important to recognize that all exchanges through SFX, Interval International or RCI are made from the home resort.

Q: Will my benefits differ if I purchase on the resale market and not from the developer?

A: Points purchased on the resale market are not eligible for use in the Concierge Collection, the Disney Collection or the Adventurer Collection. This simply means resale owners will not be able to use DVC points at Disney run hotels, Disney Cruise Line or Adventures by Disney. The points can still be used at any Disney Vacation Club resort, and through RCI, Club Cordial and Club Intrawest.

Q: What is Disney Vacation Club’s cancellation policy?

A: If a member cancels a reservation between 1 and 30 days prior to check-in, points become Holding Points. These points can only be used to book reservations 60 days in advance, they cannot be banked, and they expire at the end of the use year.
