Hyatt Residence Club offers a collection of 16 high quality timeshare resorts in premier travel destinations. Hyatt’s superior level of service and top of the line amenities coupled with a flexible points system makes them one of the more desirable vacation clubs amongst timeshare owners. Hyatt Residence Club is unique in that it is not purely a weeks-based or points-based system; it lies somewhere in the middle of the two. Take a minute to read our guide to Understanding Hyatt Residence Club for a general overview of how the system works. In short, owners have the option to use their full ownership week or to convert to Vacation Club points for the ability to make alternate travel plans. Where Hyatt differs from other points-based timeshare developers is that owners only have the ability to use VC points for a 2-, 3-, 4-, or 7-night stay.
Split Week Defined
The term “Split Week” simply means breaking a week up into more than one vacation period. With Hyatt Residence Club, owners have the option to split their week up into 2-, 3-, or 4-night stays if they so desire. Split week reservations are subject to a $35 housekeeping fee and a $39 administrative fee. Hyatt has a rather complicated way of designating how a week can be split, however, so keep reading for a detailed breakdown of how it works.
First Things First; Check-in Days
Each Hyatt Residence Club resort has certain day(s) on which full week stays must begin. Regardless of if owners are using their own deeded or right-to-use week, or using Vacation Club points (VC points) to book a week stay, the reservation must check-in on one of the designated full week check-in day(s) as outlined below.

What About Split Weeks?
In order to make varying lengths of stay match up and work in their booking system, Hyatt has assigned specific nights for 2-, 3-, and 4-night split week stays.
The split week assignments are based on the day or days that the full weeks begin at each Hyatt Residence Club resort as outlined in the chart above.
For vacation weeks that begin on a Friday:
2-Night Split Week: Mon/Tues or Wed/Thurs nights
3-Night Split Week: Fri, Sat & Sun nights
4-Night Split Week: Mon, Tues, Wed, & Thurs nights
For vacation weeks that begin on a Saturday:
2-Night Split Week: Tues/Wed or Thurs/Fri nights
3-Night Split Week: Sat, Sun & Mon nights
4-Night Split Week: Tues, Wed, Thurs, & Fri nights
For vacation weeks that begin on a Sunday:
2-Night Split Week: Sun/Mon orTues/Wed nights
3-Night Split Week: Thurs, Fri & Sat nights
4-Night Split Week: Sun, Mon, Tues, & Wed nights
Let’s See An Example:
Since the split week designations are a bit confusing, here are a couple examples of potential bookings.
You would like to stay at Hyatt High Sierra Lodge the first week of June, 2015. Because there are specific check-in days per the length of your stay, your options would be:
2 nights checking in:
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015;
or Thursday, June 4th
3 nights checking in:
Saturday, June 6th
4 nights checking in:
Tuesday, June 2nd
7 nights checking in:
Saturday, June 6th
The resorts that have multiple check-in days provide more options of travel dates. For example, you would like to stay at Hyatt Pinon Pointe the first week of August, 2015. Your options would be:
2 nights checking in:
Monday, August 3rd, 2015;
Tuesday, August 4th, 2015;
Wednesday, August 5th, 2015;
Thursday, August 6th, 2015;
or Sunday, August 9th, 2015
3 nights checking in:
Thursday August 6th, 2015;
Friday August 7th, 2015;
or Saturday, August 8th, 2015
4 nights checking in:
Sunday, August 9th, 2015;
Monday, August 3rd, 2015;
or Tuesday, August 4th, 2015
7 nights checking in:
Friday, August 7th, 2015;
Saturday, August 8th, 2015;
or Sunday, August 9th, 2015
Summing It Up
The option for owners to split weeks into 2, 3, or 4-night stays is a great advantage of Hyatt Residence Club ownership. Although the details can be a bit confusing at first, utilizing the above charts and guidelines when planning your stays will make the system much easier to use.
