Hilton timeshare presentations have been one of the most popular ways the general public will be introduced to the Hilton timeshare program. This can be a pretty polarizing experience for someone’s first impression, not only of a Hilton timeshare, but of timeshares in general. In this article, we’ll explore a few of the things to pay attention to before, during and after you’ve taken your turn in the “hot seat” getting the sales pitch.
Get Your Game Face On
Timeshare presentations are known to be some of the most intense, high-pressure sales meetings ever. Don’t let the agent bully or pressure you. Know that you’re going for an education, and not to actually buy that day. Regardless of how many “special, last-chance offers” are thrown at you.
Know The Value
It can be a great exercise to check Hilton timeshare resale prices, prior to attending. You will find the price of an identical ownership on the resale market will be just a fraction of the cost that would be paid at the presentations. This is no fluke. It’s estimated that close to 1/3 of the retail price of the timeshare is covering marketing costs that are incurred by giving away gifts, hiring sales agents & podium speakers and other costs associated with the presentation model of sales. Think about it, the developer needs to sell an ownership or two just to cover the rent for the building holding the presentation. These huge marketing costs are passed onto you. On the resale market, you will be able to purchase at a price much closer to the actual value of the ownership itself.
Know Your Rights
If for some reason you took the plunge, and purchased a Hilton timeshare at the presentation, know that you have the right to rescind the purchase if done within the appropriate window of time. Our company doesn’t actively suggest for any owner to terminate a deal they have made prior to finding our agency, but we want to remind you that it is the responsibility of any sales agent to inform you of your right to cancel the purchase. The time period for cancellation ranges from 3-7 days, depending on the state in which you purchased.
