The second highest award given to a resort from RCI based on excellence in certain criteria. These awards are very important when you are trading your ownership week for another.
Rated just under a Gold Crown Resort Award, an RCI Silver Crown Resort Award offers less trading power than Gold. Trading power allows an owner to exchange their ownership for one with an equal or lesser value. This value is based on popularity of the season and the location of the property. A peak season week at a ski resort will have a high trading power as opposed to the tail end of the ski season when the conditions are not optimal.
When you are purchasing a timeshare, it is important to know what the trading value of your ownership will be. Trading is a great way to get the most out of your timeshare ownership. Your ownership will allow you to use your property and week any time you like but when you trade, you can get multiple weeks of the value of your one -or- you can use your week to go someplace completely different.
