Hilton made a significant move last year with the introduction of their HGV Max program, designed to integrate Diamond Resorts and Hilton Grand Vacations into one cohesive system. The HGV Max program, available to both existing owners and new buyers, was created with the intention of combining the best features of both clubs. However, many owners were left wondering what would happen with Embarc Resorts under this new program.
In recent times, Embarc has initiated some changes, signaling its possible future integration into the HGV Max program. Let’s explore what has recently changed for Embarc Resorts owners, and how that fits into Hilton’s HGV Max program.
Point Reallocations For Embarc Resorts Owners
In a bid to harmonize Embarc Resorts’ points system with the broader HGV Max portfolio, Hilton has implemented a change where each Embarc owner’s annual points are multiplied by 50. However, to maintain balance, the points required for reservations have been adjusted in the same proportion. This ensures that owners can continue to make their usual reservations without any impact.
For instance, an Embarc owner who previously received 200 points per year will now receive 10,000 points annually. Correspondingly, a reservation that used to cost 200 points will now require 10,000 points to secure.
In terms of maintenance fees, the amount per point that owners are required to pay annually will be divided by 50. This move is designed to keep the maintenance costs consistent with what they were prior to this change. Therefore, despite the shift in the points system, the overall financial obligation of the owners remains the same.
Use Year Adjusted To January For All Embarc Owners
Beginning on January 24th, 2024, Embarc Resorts is introducing changes that will align their members’ use year with the calendar year, starting from January 1st and ending on December 31st. Any remaining points from the usage year of 2023 can be utilized by Embarc owners until December 31st, 2024, without any penalties or need for banking for that usage year. Furthermore, Hilton has confirmed that Embarc owners will retain the privilege to bank their points for future usage years.
This modification synchronizes the usage years of Embarc Resorts’ owners with the way Hilton Grand Vacations owners operate, thereby streamlining processes across both timeshare products.
HGV Max Membership Now Marketed To Embarc Resorts Owners
Even though Embarc Resorts owners are now eligible to join the HGV Max program, it is contingent on a new qualifying purchase. Hilton has not yet clarified whether Embarc members will be able to buy in to the HGV Max program without an additional purchase, in the same way, it allowed Hilton Grand Vacations owners.
Will Embarc Resorts Be Available To Book Using HGV Max?
As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding how HGV Max owners, who are not current Embarc Resort members, could gain access to Embarc Resorts.

We will be sure to keep you up to date as soon as Hilton discloses additional information about if and how they plan to allocate Embarc Resorts inventory for HGV Max members and when these members would be permitted to commence booking at these resorts utilizing their HGV Max points.
