In this article, we will be covering all the latest details including launch dates, how many points it takes to book Vistana (Westin, Sheraton & Vistana) resorts, the costs involved in using the program and so much more! Stick around for all the latest developments!
Abound Program Launch Date
While a specific day has not been released, Marriott announced that owners can start making reservations, at Vistana properties starting for the 2023 calendar year to book, starting in October of 2022.

Destinations Club Points To Be Rebranded As Club Points
Marriott will be rebranding Destination Club Points (also known as Vacation Points). Destination Club Points will now be referred to Club Points. Club Points will be the new name for the vacation currency moving forward.
No Incremental Costs To Owners
As Marriot has mentioned in every information release thus far, there will be no additional costs for owners who use the Abound program. Marriott will not be requiring purchases of additional timeshares, and there will be no buy-in option, as the program is completely free to eligible owners.
Annual Club Fee Raised By $15
Membership Level | 2022 Club Fee | 2023 Club Fee |
---|---|---|
Owners and Select Members | $215.00 | $230.00 |
Executive and Presidential Members | $255.00 | $270.00 |
Chairmans’ Club Members | $280.00 | $295.00 |
Restrictions For Interval International
Marriott owners will not be allowed to use Club Points to make reservations at Westin and Sheraton properties by exchanging through Interval International. The goal of this restriction is to keep Marriot resort inventory within the Abound program, and Marriott since owners will simply be able to use Abound to accomplish the same goal, trading with Interval International for Westin and Sheraton properties has been restricted.
Limited Availability At Launch
Vistana owners will need to elect to convert their weeks / points into Club points for availability at Vistana resorts to enter into the Abound Program. Since many Vistana owners have already booked their 2023 vacations, there may be limited inventory for the first year, with much more availability at Vistana resorts coming in the following years.
Missing Vistana Resorts
There are 24 Vistana resorts being added to Abound on launch date, but Marriott owners may notice some missing Vistana properties when the service goes live in October. Notably the Harborside At Atlantis property, and all of the Westin Riverfront properties will not be available right away. Marriott will continue expanding the resorts offered in the program over time, but additional agreements need to be made for the remaining Vistana resorts to add them to the Abound program.
What If I Own Both Marriott And Vistana Properties?
Owners of both Marriott and Vistana timeshares can combine the Club Points values of their ownerships when determining their Marriott Vacation Club owner membership level benefits. Vistana owners’ Club Point level will be determined by the amount of Club Points they can elect to convert their weeks / points into, plus the amount of MVC Club Points.

This summer, Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation is debuting Abound by Marriott Vacations™ (“Abound”), a new Owner benefit and exchange program. Abound aims to offer Marriott, Westin, and Sheraton timeshare owners more flexibility when exchanging their vacations between the three vacation clubs.
Abound by Marriott Vacations Explanation
With Abound, Marriott Vacations Worldwide is seeking to create an internal exchange program that will replace Marriott’s current Marriott Vacation Club Destinations Exchange Program.
The Marriott Vacation Club Destinations Exchange Program is an internal exchange program that affords owners of Marriott Destinations Club Points (Trust Points) and Legacy Week owners who have converted their week into points, the ability to book at the many Marriott Vacation Club resorts without trading through Interval International.
The program will be available to owners at three of the vacation clubs that are owned by Marriott Vacations Worldwide; Marriott Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, and Sheraton Vacation Club with the possibility of the program being extended to other Marriott Vacations Worldwide vacation clubs such as Grand Residences or Ritz Carlton.
We are incredibly excited to debut Abound by Marriott Vacations, which is our gateway for enrolled vacation Owners to embark on exceptional travel adventures around the globe, helping them make a lifetime of meaningful vacation moments with those they care about most.
President of Marriott Vacations Worldwide, John E. Geller, Jr.What Will Abound by Marriott Vacations Cost?
Marriott Vacations Worldwide recently hosted an investor’s day conference that included a webinar in which Marriott Vacations Worldwide executives fielded questions. Executive Vice President and Chief Brand and Digital Strategy Officer at Marriott Vacations Worldwide, Laura Gustafson, answered questions about how much this new program would costs owners.
Laura Gustafson was quoted saying that the new program will be “completely additive with no incremental cost to owners”. It’s unclear if this offer will be available to all owners, or if there will be eligibility requirements. We will learn more details over the next few months about the program, but the Abound program is looking promising so far.
